Many kids are now back in school, but they are still hungry.

Our shelves got empty very quickly since children didn’t eat at school and schools were not open to hold their food drives (which we rely on heavily). Kids, young & older, can still hold food drives in their neighborhoods, churches, and Birthday food drives to support their community and friends. These can be counted as Community Service hours. Here is a list of our most needed items.

Call us at (985) 626-4457, or email Paul at foodbank@samcen.org so we can help you help our friends in need.

What is The Samaritan Center

The Samaritan Center is a Christian organization offering emergency assistance with food for those in our community who are in need.

Limited assistance for utilities, rent/mortgage, transportation, & medicines may be provided in some circumstances.

It is our hope that with God’s grace we may be able to assist those people in need on their path back to self-sufficiency.

The Samaritan Center is in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank which serves  South Louisiana, who is a member of Feeding America.

The Samaritan Center has built a new Food Bank!
