HURRICANE IDA UPDATE:

Hello, wonderful community, brothers and sisters. I pray things are getting a little better for you each day!

We have had many requests on how you can help, asking what we need.

The first thing we did was to make sure food immediately made it out to families in need by stocking ministries who have cooked nonstop for the community.

We will have canvas carts out front at 9AM. If you have large donations, please coordinate with dena@samcen.org.

That means our shelves are empty and we now will be working to refill them. Our goal is to be refilled and serving folks by Tuesday, the 14th September. If you, your church, business, or folks from afar wish to donate food and water, we will begin receiving those items daily, beginning Tuesday, September 7th.

We are in need of all canned foods, especially green beans, corn, peas, mixed vegetables, beans, and canned pasta. We also need dry pasta!

Thank you so much. Please help spread the word!

If you are in need of food today, you can go to First Baptist Church of Mandeville daily between 4pm and 7pm.

The Samaritan Center is a Christian organization offering emergency assistance with food for those in our community who are in need.

Limited assistance for utilities, rent/mortgage, transportation, & medicines may be provided in some circumstances.

It is our hope that with God’s grace we may be able to assist those people in need on their path back to self-sufficiency.

The Samaritan Center is in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank which serves  South Louisiana, who is a member of Feeding America.
