Let’s Stamp Out Hunger on Saturday, May 11.

This coming Saturday is the largest one-day food drive in the nation! On May 11, 2024, letter carriers around the country will hit their routes ready to collect your bags of non-perishable food donations.

Simply put your donations in a bag and place it near your mailbox on the morning of Saturday, May 11. Please, no glass, refrigerated, or expired items.

Click below for a list of our most needed food items. https://samcen.org/food-bank/what-we-need/

All food bags picked up by our Mandeville Letter Carriers will be brought to the Samaritan Center. This is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT since it is right before school summer break. Children are not eating breakfast & lunch at school so they need more food at their homes… the need goes up. Also, food banks rely on the donations of schools, which goes down during summer months.

If you don’t get a bag from the Post Office Letter Carriers, please use your own bag. Again, please, no glass, refrigerated, or expired items.

Together we can #StampOutHunger! Learn more here: nalc.org/food

What is The Samaritan Center

The Samaritan Center is a Christian organization offering emergency assistance with food for those in our community who are in need.

Limited assistance for utilities, rent/mortgage, transportation, & medicines may be provided in some circumstances.

It is our hope that with God’s grace we may be able to assist those people in need on their path back to self-sufficiency.

The Samaritan Center is in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank which serves  South Louisiana, who is a member of Feeding America.

The Samaritan Center has built a new Food Bank!
